MARK
Site Intuitive Installation
MARK is a site reactive installation in the Kent State School of Art Downtown Gallery window. Comprised of screenprinted walls, paper-pulp marks, framed and unframed prints, and hand-built box forms, MARK was heavily influenced by Thomas Bayrle’s print display at the MET in New York. The box forms appropriate Donald Judd’s approach to minimalism while breaking from the expectation of removing the artist hand, as they are screenprinted on the interior and exterior. The paper pulp wire marks sit at the bottom of the installation reflecting how my neurodivergent brain feels, vs the organized composition on the walls reflect the strict organizational tools I must implement.
Other Site Intuitive Installations
Based on each individual location, I react intuitively to the space to build a unique composition comprised of prints, handmade paper grids, 3D marks and vinyl.
